Eduardo Cardinho presents his new album In Search Of Light, recorded in July 2018, accompanied by Dutch saxophonist Ben Van Gelder and Portuguese accordionist João Barradas.
In addition to the outstanding jazz line-up, some of the pieces were also recorded with a classical string quartet (Ana Ribeiro and Miguel Simões (violins), Joana Nunes (viola) and Fernando Costa (cello) as well as electronics in real time by Igor Silva.
Cardinho composed the tunes for his new album entirely during his prolonged stay in Amsterdam, where he lived for 2 years. His music is bright and energetic while he joins his outstanding technical abilities on the vibraphone with his very own concept of composition by layering different sounds.
The result is a deep awereness of how music can inspire the world.
The vibraphonist has been asserting himself as an outstanding young talent in the Portuguese jazz scene since 2016, when he released his debut album Black Hole, which was critically acclaimed and considered one of the best jazz records of the year.
