"One of the most gifted saxophonists/composers to come along in quite a while." -Bob Mintzer
Greg Johnson's colorful, melodic approach to music presents his listeners with a tonal palette that they have never experienced before. Supported by his new quartet with pianist Omree Gal-Oz, electric bassist Mike Dougherty and drummer Andrew Boyle, each track narrates a different story.
Greg has appeared in concert and on mainstream recordings with Jazz greats Curtis Fuller, Billy Taylor, Dick Oatts, Alan Pasqua, Peter Erskine and many more. He has appeared on stage with Pop and Rock acts such as Saint Motel, Robin Thicke, Barry Manilow and the O'Jays at some of the biggest festivals and venues in the world.
Greg was added to the 2017 GRAMMY ballot in the category of "Best Improvised Jazz Solo" for his work on Aarón Serfaty's "In the Game." He will be releasing "Philosopher's Path" and his new big band album "Visions of Kansas City" on February 28th, 2020.
