One of the elements connecting Piotr Lemańczyk's original albums are the star compositions that accompany the double bass player in the recordings. This was the case with the quartet album released a few years ago with the participation of Walter Smith III, David Kikoski, Colin Stranahan and a guest performance by Grzegorz Nagórski.

It is no different in the case of the latest publication, which presents Piotr Lemańczyk at the head of the trio, in the composition supplemented again with "big" names. Both the pianist and the drummer are Polish musicians who play in bands successfully conquering the world jazz scene and recording for the prestigious ECM label. Dominik Wania sat behind the piano, and Michał Miśkiewicz played the drums.

This combination of musicians causes a thrill of excitement even before the recordings are turned on. Emotions that do not pass for fifty minutes of music, filled with eight compositions of the leader. Songs that can be a model of classical jazz in a modern setting. Each of the recordings is five to eight minutes of great ripping and fantastic individual performances. Occasionally all-star trains don't always work. However, in the case of "In Simplicta" you can not feel at all that the trio does not have a long history together.

The album has a place for a song in a slightly more open form - "Mr Alousis" where we can admire the individuality of each musician in all its glory and the ability to combine them into a perfectly functional mechanism. Two compositions - "Forest Morning" and "Ballad We Are" somewhat calm the quite energetic narrative of the other five. In simplicity, strength - the words of the popular saying perfectly reflect the character of the trio's album. And it can be presumed that such meaning should be read from the original "In Simplicity" crowning the album cover. A sensational, world-class album.
