Uncle Dog - Old Hat (Japan Remastered) (1972/2005)

A group from London recorded only one full-length album, “Old Hat”, released in 1972 on the label “Signpost”. Before joining “Uncle Dog”, singer Carol Grimes was the frontman of the group “Delivery”, which broke up in 1971, and even earlier recorded several tracks as part of “Babylon”. The recordings for this album also included guitarist “Free” Paul Kossoff (“We Got Time”) and John “Rabbit” Bundrick (piano). Most of the songs are written by keyboardist and vocalist David Skinner (ex- “Twice As Much”), although there are several cover versions. Subsequently, John Porter became a producer, Sam Mitchell played with “Clancy” and “The Sandmen”, Skinner also played in “Clancy”, while the legendary drummer “Ace” Terry Stannard formed the band “Kokomo”.
