It is just one of the critical acclaim that organist Piet van der Steen has received for his rendition of César Franck's twelve organ works (and more). He rightly recorded them in France, the country where Franck, who was born in Liège, lived and composed for most of his life. In addition to the "well-known organ press", national newspapers such as Trouw and de Volkskrant also paid attention to this triple CD. Recordings took place on the Cavaillé-Cool organ in Epernay.
