Maria Garzón - Dussek: Piano Concertos (1998)

All piano concerto on this CD were written between 1792 and 1798, hence they reflect the style and sound of the Rokoko time and the transition to the classic period. Since J.L. Dussek is not widely known, his piano concertos share the same destiny. But, they clearly enrich the the period of the last decade of the ending century among other composers like W.A. Mozart, Johann Nepomuk Hummel, Giovanni Paisiello, Luigi Boccherini, Ludwig Abeille, L. van Beethoven, Muzi Clementi, John Field and Ferdinand Ries, etc. Unfortunately the CD labels do not put a lot of emphasis on non-mainstream composers of this era.
Quality and sound of the CD are perfect. I recommend this CD to all collectors of piano concertos. I feel lucky to complete my collection of more than 500 piano concertos / pieces for piano and orchestra.
