Jordi Mestres – double bass
Aldo Caviglia – drums
“Elisabet Raspall Quartet” presents: “I Love Jazz”, the new and original repertoire of the composer and pianist from Vilanova I la Geltrú, album n.13 of her private collection, recorded this July in Underpool, and which will be published very soon, under his own label Raspall Records.
Elisabet Raspall (piano and composition) and Aldo Caviglia (drums) have been working together at ESMUC (Superior School of Music of Catalonia) for more than 15 years as a Trio Base accompaniment within the School’s Jazz and Modern Music Department. With the addition of Jordi Mestres (double bass) and Fernando Brox (flute), the Quartet continues in a new phase of experimentation and evolution, working on a new repertoire based on the pianist’s own compositions and original arrangements of standards and different pieces of Jazz and Modern music, with a clear influence from the most traditional roots, as well as from other more avant-garde currents, with the spirit of other music, such as Brazilian.
