This CD brings something new for just about every organist and follower of organ music. This CD includes one of the most memorable of movements from the pen of Leo Sowerby (from Organ Symphony No. 2), which Scott has adopted as the CD’s title, and a very rarely heard organ partita from post World War II German from Karl Höller. Add to this the heroic and turbulent music of the Passacaglia quasi Toccata from Milos Sokola, and music of Widor, Reger, Bonnet, Dupré and Reubke, and you have a socko boffo (def.: superb, excellent, stunning) album. Performed by American organist Scott Bennett upon the 4-manual Reuter organ of Grace Episcopal Church in Charleston, South Carolina.
