A Time Out New York Off-Off Broadway Innovator To Watch, Heather Christian is a Brooklyn-based composer and performer who consistently illustrates her strong, multi-faceted abilities within the realms of theatre, film and contemporary avant-folk music. She has been awarded by the Obies, the Drama League, and Sundance and most recently received an honor from The Alliance of Women Film Composers for her score to the Rachel Chavkin-directed musical, Annie Salem. When Christian is not performing all over the world with her Americana-Folk band, Heather Christian and the Arbornauts, she is in high demand as a collaborator, having performed with Big Dance Theater, Taylor Mac, and Witness Relocation, to name a few. Lately, the singer-songwriter has been preparing her biggest project to date, a staged multi-media performance of her concept album, Animal Wisdom, which will debut at the Transform Festival in 2017.
