Emil Hess Internationally active Copenhagen saxophonist and composer who has played over 1500 concerts at home and abroad, has made 430 compositions and produced 16 albums and 3 music films / DVDs as conductor or co-conductor with his own music.
Winner of the Danish Music Award jazz 2014 for the Danish Jazz Release of the Year with “3 X Hess: Music for Mum & Dad”
Born in KBH 16.04. 1965, who at the age of 6 moved to Vejle: school and high school, has since lived 10 years in Aarhus, 5 years in the USA (New York, Boston, San Francisco), and has since 1999 been based in Copenhagen.
EH Leads Emil Hess Evolution, Emil Hess Quartet and Emil Hess Night Church. Co-leader of the New York based group Hess / Huntley, 3 of kind, 3XHESS and Scandinavian Jazz Quartet.
Has also played with Mulgrew Miller, Cameron Brown, Lars Jansson, Marilyn Mazur, DaveBallou, Rich Huntley, Thomas Clausen, Erling Kroner, Klüvers Big Band, ToneArt Ensemble, Ted Curson and Carmen Bradford.
