Granados is best remembered today for his two albums of piano pieces, the beautifully evocative Goyescas: Los majos enamorados (The Majos in Love), inspired by Francisco Goya’s paintings and tapestries of eighteenth-century life in Madrid. Both Goyescas and the exuberant El Pelele (The Straw Man) are heard on this recording in new transcriptions for three guitars by Christophe Dejour of the Trio Campanella.
