Despite other reviewers' complaints about the missing "warmth" from most Living Stereo SACD recordings (many complain that the vinyl versions still sound better), I believe this Berlioz piece is the exception to the rule. High notes don't seem to have an over-accentuation of the treble and the bass/lower notes are about as close to the original vinyl as you're going to get! RCA Red Seal discs are top notch, not only for the quality of the recordings but also the manufacturing quality of the discs and cases. (No sharp edges on these discs!) In regards to Symphonie Fantastique itself, if you don't already have a recording of it, get it. This recording in particular. My favorite track is also the first movement of Symphonie Fantastique, Reveries - Passions. This would certainly make a wonderful addition to your classical collection!
