The bird knew it was time again to flee from the cold and the human noise. It was a long journey to solitude. It gathered its flock to start their trip south. They crossed endless fields and dense forests, above them the crystal blue sky and the warm sun warming their feathers. The world was in silence. But on the horizon dark clouds gathered and formed a storm. Rain was hitting the earth like drums and thunder shook the air. The birds fought their way through the clouds, spending so much of their energy that they almost fell out of the sky from exhaustion. But the moment they broke through the clouds they were free again. Here they could have flown forever till their final destination.
