The music featured in the 2020 film Pieces of a Woman is written by Howard Shore, the Canadian composer also behind the iconic scores to The Lord of the Rings film franchise, as well as film such as The Silence of the Lambs and Spotlight.

Howard Shore is predicted to be nominated for an Oscar for Best Original Score at the 2021 Academy Awards. He has been nominated in this category twice before, once for Hugo in 2021 (another film with Scorsese), and another for The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring, which he won. The 2021 Academy Awards nominations will be announced on 25 April 2021.
