Joe Henry - Blood From Stars (2009)

With his work as both producer and a songwriter overlapping and informing one another, it is only natural that the blues found their way onto Henry's latest album "Blood From Stars" after most recently producing albums for Allen Toussaint and Ramblin' Jack Elliott. The album features veteran musicians like guitarist Marc Ribot and pianist Jason Moran. Joe Henry has produced and written with Loudon Wainwright, Elvis Costello, Allen Toussaint, Ornette Coleman, Solomon Burke, Madonna, Ani DiFranco, Don Byron, T-Bone Burnett and Ramblin' Jack Elliott.
