ALLVEI - Allvei (2026) [Hi-Res]

Norwegian guitarist Eivind J. Vullum, Polish saxophonist Jerzy Mączyński, and Swiss drummer Nicolas Stocker form the trio Allvei, whose name comes from a dialect term of Norway’s northwest coast and serves as the conceptual foundation of a project about temporality and vastness. Their self-titled 12" was released on Vibrasjon. The music combines electronic reduction with jazz improvisation: guitar, saxophone, and drums interact with restraint and precision, leaving ample space for free development of the sound.

The five compositions form a coherent dramaturgical arc. The minimalist playing of “Almberg” and the unhurried breadth of “Driva” set the mood; “Mariensztat” adds textured exoticism and meticulous arrangement; “Züri” is built on barely perceptible eruptions and calm atmospheres; the closing “Kristiania” is driving and rests on Stocker’s rhythmic shuffle. The album was recorded at Studio Paradiso Oslo, mixed by Michał Kupicz, and mastered by Helmut Erler. The vinyl comes with a double-sided insert featuring an art print by Polish artist Katarzyna Dębska, extending the music’s visual imagery.
