A journey into Mozart’s parallel universe: The new CD MOZART IN MOLL by Michael Wessel. After the astonishing press echo for his LISZT WAGNER REUBKE CD, the pianist Wessel returns with new album out of his favourite genre.

For the first time, all of the original piano works of Mozart written in a minor key are compiled in one CD. No other important composer did so often use major keys. It might be the reason why he was often called “The cheerful child“ or the „Soul Comforter“. With this album we get to know another side of Mozart’s personality. A lonesome, desperate man who expresses his deepest and most intimate thoughts and impressions in minor keys.

Michael Wessel plays with passion, sometimes harsh but always with an exceptional depth, which cannot be found often nowadays. The pianist Paul Badura-Skoda wrote about him: „Michael Wessel is not only an incredible sensitive piano player, but also one of the most intelligent musician I ever met.”
