It has been quite a while since a really big harmonica talent came down the road, but here is Leo Diamond in all his glory. You have to go back to that great entertainer Borrah Minnevitch, who led the famous Harmonica Rascals, to find such a performer. It is interesting to note that Leo worked with Borrah for sixteen years and a lot of Borrah’s technique has evidently rubbed off on Mr. Diamond - just have a listen to this collection for proof positive.
This New York born harmonica great is not only a brilliant, exciting performer - he is also a composer, author and arranger. His composition Off Shore is a Diamond original and it has become a standard in the music world. This album contains many other great hits of recent vintage as Leo has picked outstanding material - and he has given it the fine treatment it deserves. As they say in the advertisements - "a diamond is forever.”
