Produced and distributed in Italy and abroad by the historic Venetian label Caligola Records, the disc is entirely dedicated to nocturnes and their rarefied atmospheres, original songs signed by Sartoris and Bonaventura and the homage, with an absolutely personal and modern reading of the famous nocturne Op. 9 n ° 1 and 2, to the great Polish composer Frèdéric Chopin.

A valuable work between classical music and improvisation that arises from the meeting of the cultured and elegant sound of the piano by Emanuele Sartoris, a leading exponent of the so-called "Third Stream", combined with the refined and skilful lyricism of the bandoneon by Daniele di Bonaventura, one of the major European interpreters of the instrument.

The internationally renowned cellist Mario Brunello writes in the liner notes: “Nocturnes, how not to go immediately to Chopin and to a Piano that sings sadly, accepting its nature of a sound that at each note is destined to go out like a candlelight. The magic of this song lies in waiting, in the time it takes for the vibrations of each note to reach silence. Notes which, in this sense, throb, are rekindled with each striking of the key, awakening the desire for melody, for singing.

And then a suspended trend, which floats on harmonies that love to get lost and find themselves repeatedly, without haste to resolve questions that have inadvertently arisen to those who let themselves go in listening to this music.

The breath of the sound of the Bandoneon together with that of the Piano brings this music into a more human, real, lived dimension, leaving the world of the nineteenth-century romantic dream for a few introductory moments. The melodies are supported by the breath, by the tension of the bellows, by the prolonged sound of the key, which reaches the soul.

A slow journey, a journey through the experience of music, to which are added the improvisations and inspiration of two formidable and courageous musicians who have the sincere talent to approach and enter the magical atmosphere of the Nocturnes. "
