Marcin Janek Extradition Quintet is a band that has already become known to the jazz audience from the best side. As a laureate of the Jazz nad Odrą festival or the Review of Young Jazz and Blues Bands in Gdynia, he caught the wind in his sails and recorded his first album, entitled "Movin 'on". This American slogan about not wasting time, leaving what was behind your back and moving forward, perfectly corresponds to the unstoppable energy of the group.
The band's leader - Marcin Janek - is responsible for the compositions on the album. In his work and the way he plays, you can hear his fascination with spirituality and freedom, which is what is so important for jazz, and nowadays often abandoned in favor of logic and closed forms. This does not mean, however, that the album is full of chaos - the titles of individual songs will lead the listener to the stories about which the band develops its musical narrative. This one sounds extraordinary thanks to the extremely interesting musicians of the young generation who make up the Extradition Quintet. In the rhythm section you can hear Maks Kreft, Paweł Urowski and Dominik Kisiel, while the melodic section consists of Piotr Szlempo and - the leader - Marcin Janek. Together, these five personalities create extraordinary music - dynamic, charismatic, sometimes lyrical, often very energetic. Music you want to come back to. In the title piece, the leading Polish saxophonist Wojciech Staroniewicz joins the quintet, which intensifies the dose of extraordinary experiences.
A beautiful picture for the album was painted by Izabela Gabryszak, and Adam Dereszkiewicz is responsible for the cover design. (Publisher)
