JÜ is an experimental powerjazz trio concisting of Àdàm MÉSZÁROS (guitar), Ernő HOCK (bass) and Andràs HALMOS (drums). Formed in Budapest, Hungary in the spring of 2012, they, through several blistering high energy live performances, quickly made a name for themselves, and are now considered one of the most excilarating outfits on the Hungarian jazz scene.
In May 2013 they released a 17 minutes long, download only EP, titled "Kü", concisting of three tracks. This was followed by the November 2014 release of their full length album debut, "Jü Meets Møster", where they were joined by reputed Norwegian saxophonist Kjetil MØSTER (ULTRALYD, MØSTER!). The album was released through RareNoise Records, mixed by Bill Laswell and mastered by Michael Fossenkemper.
JÜ's music can be described as free psychedelic avant jazz meets trash metal and hardcore rock. Recommended to fans of John COLTRANE, Sonny SHARROCK, John ZORN, KING CRIMSON and Jimi HENDRIX.
