i-sef u-sef - shaghara lemoune (2021) Hi-Res

i-sef u-sef is a bassoonist and producer based in Ann Arbor, Michigan and Los Angeles, California. Though he is classically trained, his influences stem from a wide variety of genres such as r&b, soul, funk, and jazz. His distinct playing and production techniques give his music a unique sound which is furthering the development of electroacoustic bassoon performance and recording.
His music is created by only using sounds from the bassoon. This is done by individually recording each melody, harmony, and key click, and doing the necessary processing to make them sound like a full band. This gives a new sound to his music without diverging too far from the norm.
Because a lot of his music is loop based, he is able to perform in a diverse range of settings. This includes solo shows, concerts with other small acoustic ensembles, and shows with a full band. He is currently in the process of choreographing his different live setups, and plans to perform live-streamed concerts starting the summer of 2020.
