Today I introduce to you Selma Hande Gade and her piano album "Glims from My Life". Seven neoclassical piano pieces from different composers in completely different styles: Rodrigo Baggio with his jazz waltz "A Letter to a Friend", a piece that can scarcely hide his Brazilian idiosyncrasy; Turkish composer Ali Darmar (a former teacher of Selma's) with his post-romantic Prelude in g minor; the also Turkish composer Fazil Say with his Ballad "Sevenlere dair" ("About lovers") - and also four compositions by Yours Truly, aka Juan María Solare: "Until You Say Enough" (dedicated to Selma herself), "Flower Growing Through a Crack in a Stone" (dedicated to Selma's mother), "Clair de Klara" (dedicated to Selma's daughter) and "Mote of Dust Suspended in a Sunbeam" (dedicated to a friend that passed away unnecessarily early).
