The singer and harmonica player Victor Puertas, a Hohner Harmonicas endorser, is one of the notable names in the Catalan scene. He takes part in many projects related to blues music and other African American musics (The Suitcase Brothers; Victor Puertas & The Mellow To- nes; Cool Grinders; Koko-Jean & The Tonics,...) and has shared the stage with many great in- ternational artists (Gary Primich, Little G Weevil, Steve James, Nathan James, Mark Hummel, Sandra Hall, JT Lauritsen, Steve Wes Weston, Grana Louise, Fred Kaplan, Peaches Staten,..).
Victor Puertas is well known as one of the best harmonica players in the Spanish blues scene. Representing a young “new” generation of established artists, Puertas has proven to be a working musician, ambitious and curious, being fascinated in many instruments and styles. Besides being a harmonica player, he works as a piano and organ player. His playing includes many different styles highlighting his virtuosity without losing any of the blues feeling at the same time, satisfying even sophisticated blues audiences. Victor’s career grew exponentially after winning 2nd place at the International Blues Challenge 2013 in Memphis TN and 1st place at the 28th Annual Blues Challenge in North Carolina the same year, along with his brother Santos Puertas, known together as The Suitcase Brothers.
