Mostly Other People Do the Killing as piano trio. But as as you'd expect with this band not a completely ''normal'' piano trio given the electronics on top subverting the sound and adding a certain garnish even when the trio seem to be as normal as normal can be say on 'Exeter'. With the line-up of pianist Ron Stabinsky, bassist Moppa Elliott and drummer Kevin Shea most of the tunes are Elliott's, with each title referring bizarrely to towns in Pennsylvania to have experienced disasters. (The album is no way as doom-laden as that may sound.) The trio happily swing on 'Marcus Hook' but when you play next track 'Wilkes-Barre' with its sci-fi-like keyboards you realise just how out-there they can be and then there's 'Centralia' stomping along for yet another approach. Pretty enjoyable over all highlights include Elliott's opening solo on 'Johnstown'. These guys sound as if they are having fun.
