Caboose - Awake Go Zero (2022) Hi-Res

Wakan Goki Zoroi is an ancient collection of stories that have as their background the seaport cities of ancient Asia and their visitors. This is the starting point for the new work of Caboose, who collect nine stories written during their travels to New Orleans, Naples, London, and then recorded at Kuca Studio, now a real production house for the duo.
The multicolored animal imprinted on the cover immediately introduces us to the multifaceted universe of their journey, where you come into contact with voodoo witches, immigrants, hobos, travelers, all united by a sense of uprooting and an insatiable curiosity for life. From here comes the longing for a place in the world, whether imaginary or real - from here comes the Blues, in short - but not only.

To spice up the album there are dusty desert rock (Without you, I want her back), ballads reminiscent of West-Africa (Viva Hobos, Tongue) and the always dear hill-country, interpreted with that vein of innovation that characterizes the two previous works (Caboose, Hinterland Blues). Awake go zero is a record that looks at Mississippi with its feet firmly planted in the Italian countryside; in this sense the intersection between the two countries becomes an invitation to mix traditions, exchange cultural heritage, take risks. Like a traveler in ancient China would do, or a Hobos jumping on a running train.
Awake go Zero is released by Bloos Records, an Italian label that is welcoming under its brand the best Italian groups of African-American music, with significant international collaborations (Corey Harris above all).
