This album was Tony Joe White's second for Warner Brothers, produced by Tom Dowd & Jerry Wexler at Muscle Shoals Sound, Alabama and featuring the legendary 'Muscle Shoals Rhythm Section'. 'The Train I'm On' is a stone classic. This is one of "The Swamp Fox" better albums. There's a great deal of stylistic variety at work in the songs. More acoustic guitars than electric and there's not a note out of place in any of the playing or the deft arrangements. From the opener "I've Got A Thing About You Baby" that bounces joyfully with the anticipation of a new romance to "Beouf River Road" which has lively percussion including a Jew's harp that throbs like a swamp frog to "The Migrant" and the lovely ballad "The Gospel Singer."
