Among the most dynamic acts on the road today, ekoostik hookah is the center of a growing family drawn to its lucid improvisation of psychedelic rock 'n roll, blues, funk, jazz and bluegrass layered with rich harmonies.

Born in early 1991 in a smoky basement bar, the band has been continually evolving, cultivating a sound that has perked the ears of contemporaries and attracted thousands of fans. The Ohio-based band began jamming during weekly open mic nights when the improv ensemble quickly found a following and this odyssey known as ekoostik hookah was formed.

In 1997, the band was honored with an invitation to play the Rock 'N Roll Hall of Fame during the museum's tribute to psychedelia.

Each year, the band puts on two music events, appropriately titled "Hookahville", over Memorial and Labor Day weekends. In 1998, more than 12,000 people came closer to ekoostik hookah by attending two days of music, camping, and fun at these independently run festivals. Well known acts that have opened up the Hookahville stage include Leftover Salmon, Merl Saunders and the Rainforest Band, Zero, David Nelson Band, and Strangefolk.

Since its birth, ekoostik hookah has handled every aspect of its growth independently.

This sophomore release captures ekoostik hookah expanding their musical abilities by weaving tightly knit jams into song frameworks over seven and eight minutes in length. The classic track, Loner, provides a perfect glimpse of the meshing of songwriting talent mixed with instrumental excitement. Showcasing the bands maturity, these ten tracks vary wildly in composition and content; consequently, this growth in ability comes from the band performing approximately 200 shows per year.
