Jose Fernandez Bardesio - Direccion Sur (2011)

The first complete recordings of Chopin's Etudes op. 10 and op. 25, Recorded in January 1928 Wilhelm Backhaus' recordings of Liszt and Chopin, Moszkowski, Brahms, Albéniz, Weber, Anton Rubinstein and Smetana revealed great virtuosity. Inexorability, rapid tempos and an almost surly approach characterized his playing. He made the first recordings of a piano concerto in history (Grieg) in 1909 - just four minutes from the first and third movements.
