Jordi Mestres - Volatile (2021)

Jordi Mestres is a craftsman of fine melodies who is able to reflect the world around him through his music. The eight compositions that make up this album are full of clear melodies and simple motifs that transform into complex textures evoking a variety of different moods such as loss or longing. The music moves between calm and euphoria and it is easy to recognize one’s own emotions within it.

On Volatile Trio #1 Jordi Mestres has surrounded himself with two regulars on the Barcelona scene. On the one hand we have the saxophonist Miguel ”Pintxo” Villar and on the other drummer Pep Mula, with whom Mestres has established the complicity necessary in order to develop this most personal project..
