Permiso is the new project of guitarist Alfred Artigas, a longtime musician who releases compositions and quartets with pianist Toni Saigi, double bassist Marc Cuevas and drummer Oriol Roca.
Permiso is the soundtrack of a lived Alfred Artigas, full of experiences that inspire the eight original compositions of this disc where the different faces of love are the protagonists.
Characters like McArthur Wheeler, the convinced robber of being invisible, Eroerido, who gravitates to the need to mortally wound the hero that society invites us to embody, or Ullapool, a scene of rest after the battle, are the point to start listening to a quartet that perfectly describes each of the stories that we find in Permiso.
Artigas, who has a strong relationship with the island of Cuba, has also included in this record a version of a bolero popularized by Benny Moré, Fiebre de ti and commissioned Cuban artist Robertiko Ramos to cover the cover. The author describes wryly as a tropical version of The Garden of Delights in the Bosco and talks about a way of understanding life and music.
Alfred Artigas – Guitar
Toni Siagi – Piano
Marc Cuevas – Bass
Oriol Roca – Drums
