This new recording by the violinist Roberto Noferini and organist Andrea Toschi features music by a number of little known 19th century Italian composers. The disc includes pieces by Alfonso Rendano, Giuseppe Antonio Ellena, Camillo Sivori, Bernardino Lanzi, Ferruccio Carlo Alberti, Francesco Paolo Neglia, Antonio Casellati, Girolamo De Angelis and Tullio Ramacciotti.

Perhaps as a result of the incredible popularity of the operas of Rossini, Donizetti and Verdi, Italian instrumental music of the 19th century has been largely ignored. This new album allows us to discover an incredibly rich and varied repertoire of rarely heard pieces by a series of mostly forgotten composers who were working in the different regions of Italy during this period.
