Out on Friday 8 July 2022 with Preludio is 'Golden Smooth Jazz Oldies', a highly original project by Fab Merrett & Al Warren.

The project takes up well-known international hits, but also perhaps somewhat forgotten hits that today's audiences can rediscover in these versions of Fab Merrett & Al Warren.

Moreover, what's new in "Golden Smooth Jazz Oldies" is that most of the songs have never been revisited by artists of the smooth jazz genre; thus, some of the songs on the album, always considered perhaps only 'pop', could now become new 'standards'.

The album tracks were recorded remotely during the pandemic, with musicians from Milan, Verona, Turin, Naples and Malaga in Spain in their respective recording studios. A real challenge!

Despite this, thanks above all to the skilful mix that sound engineer Pippo Muciaccia created in his Milan studio, the sound is compact, captivating and one can hear an excellent interplay between the various musicians, who share the same feeling and taste.

All arrangements and production are by Fab Merrett & Al Warren.

In addition to Fab and Al, the band consists of Sergio Quintero Garcia on bass, Fabio Buono on drums/percussion, Stefano De Palma on sax and Carlo Fontana on trumpet.

The tracks are partly instrumental and partly sung. In fact, 'Golden Smooth Jazz Oldies' features the singer/songwriter Dagmar Segbers with its captivating voice, the Italian a cappella group the ALTI & BASSI and the English duo Dukes of Burlingtonbehind which rappers hide Tyson & Emery.
