Loek van den Berg - Wayfarer (2022)

Wayfarer', the new album by saxophonist/composer Loek van den Berg and the quintet that bears his name, has 'travel' as its overarching theme. Loek was inspired by the various international tours the ensemble made over the years. His compositions are characterized by melodic, narrative lines and create a melancholic atmosphere.

“Ever since I got in touch with jazz I used to listen to ‘old’ jazz, Duke Ellington in the first place, and bebop. In recent years I have discovered European jazz and it really touched me.”
