2 LPs on one CD from the blues and barrelhouse pianist and singer whose long, chequered career began in the rough joints of New Orleans. A golden gloves boxer (hence the champion ) and, during the war, US Navy cook, Jack Dupree found success in Europe in the 1960s and spent several years living in Yorkshire, an authentic and colourful performer on the European blues scene.

Blues from the Gutter was recorded in New York for Atlantic in 1958 while Natural and Soulful Blues , on the same label, was the result of a London studio session and featured Alexis Korner on guitar.
