"When it comes to the blues, I'm not a purist. I don't think being a purist is a bad thing, it just depends on the player and what they want to hear coming out of their musical voice. I would describe my music as rock and a more modern blues sound. Being around a lot of really great blues players like Gary Clark, Jr., Alan Haynes and Jimmie Vaughan made me such a better rock player. My music does pull some unexpected influences, and it's recently become more vocal and songwriting focused. It's a little less about the guitar- more about the sound of the whole band."
