In the 18th century, the composer Christlieb Siegmund Binder lived and worked in Dresden. He was a contemporary of Johann Adolf Hasse and organist at the Hofkirche from 1764 until his death. His chamber music seems predestined for the clavecin roïal, a table piano with a fascinating variety of sounds. Both, music and instrument, have been recorded by harpsichordist Ricardo Magnus in co-production with SWR2 for the Et'Cetera label. The special thing about it: He plays on what is currently the only modern replica of a clavecin roïal by Kerstin Schwarz, instrument maker from Zerbst.
