Richard Galliano himself reveals:

Cully and his festival have been offering magical encounters for years, which are the starting point for some of my musical projects, such as the duet with Michel Portal (Blow Up), that with Eddy Louiss (Face to Face) or the explosive encounters with Hermeto Pascoal and many others musicians. This year I was there to present my new project New York Tango Trio, which relates both to my composition New York Tango and my first trip to New York to perform this title with Al Foster, the late George Mraz and record Biréli Lagrène. But the name is also intended to evoke the youth and influences of jazz in Piazzolla's music: from the Cotton Club to George Gershwin, but also of modern jazz (Gil Evans, with whom he was very close).

For the realization of this project I invited two exceptional musicians: the double bass player Diego Imbert and the guitarist and cellist Sébastien Giniaux. The concert immediately turned into a close communion with the audience, so much so that at the end of the concert the audience spontaneously sang with us.

I am very happy that RTS - Radio Télévision Suisse recorded the concert and proposed to produce this album for the prestigious label ›TCB - The Montreux Jazz Label‹, which allows me to be among the artists who wrote jazz history .
