The Medová Zem album is an instrumental fusion of jazz and Latin-American and folkloric themes and features eight original compositions. The album was created during the lockdown with the support of FPU and excellent musicians collaborated on it. Each song brings a unique story of the author with an atmosphere that can appeal to listeners of the mainstream, but also of deeper art.
Peter Raitl (percussion) and Juraj Varga (bass guitar) were from the very beginning a solid part of the creative team, which also included Štefan Bugala (vibraphone), Juraj Zaujec (Spanish guitar), Andrea Bučko (vocals) and Peter Nošík (drums). .
"When the idea of creating an album was born, I had a clear vision and an idea of what I wanted to express through music and how it should sound. The recording itself was like telling a story, which was also joined by the spontaneous ideas of my colleagues. The magic of the harmony of the accordion with the instruments and vocals makes me very happy, I enjoyed creating and recording immensely," David Szabo emphasized the diversity of the creative process.
The composition Krajinou stands out with its cast. It was created as an invention of the question and answer principle. "The sound painting of vibraphone and accordion is not here for the first time, but it always impresses with its charm. The sequences played on the vibraphone bring a pulse, a pulse to the variety of colors of the accordion," explained vibraphonist and composer Štefan Bugala.
