Nadja Nevolovitsch - Encounters (2012/2020) Hi-Res

The romantic organ of the late 19th century is an orchestra with a variety of timbres to represent the music, and yet it lacks the expressiveness of a string instrument to a large extent. In her present recording on AEOLUS, violinist Nadja Nevolovitsch and Belgian organist Peter van de Velde use original works and sensitive arrangements by Tomaso Antonio Vitali to Arvo Pärt to show how optimally the two instruments can complement each other. The fact that many of the composers were themselves organists also benefits the pieces recorded here.
