An Imaginary Journey is the latest album by the double bass player Alberto Brutti along with his contemporary jazz project, KARU. The deep interest in ancestral rhythms and tribal cultures have transformed their studio sessions into adventurous jams, that impress for a sound that is as sophisticated as it is primal. KARU embarks on a psychedelic trip across uncharted territory in jazz composition: Alberto orchestrates vibrating bass passages livened up by the sparkling sax, evocative percussions and melodies that wander across the record. Connecting the dots between joyful celebrations and fearless catharsis, this album crates a spiritual atmosphere where we experience multiple cultures through chants, rituals and the power of imagination.
