Beach Bugs - BEACH BUGS (2022)

Beach Bugs is a trio straight from Limoges who have managed to stand out from the French scene. They went off the beaten track with a first release called Headache Time released in 2008 allowing them to make a name for themselves. This year, they are embarking on the adventure of the first record.

Through these eleven new titles, Beach Bugs distils their musical influences wisely. Torn between garage-pop, surf and jangle-pop, the trio will come to intoxicate us with their stunning vocal harmonies and their catchy and intoxicating melodies of "Be Loved" which opens the disc in a jovial way before continuing with the sublime surf-garage tune named “Sugar Ocean” and “Thinking Of You” to the tunes of Jay Reatard. And for now, it succeeded.

Beach Bugs continues on its merry way with other jubilant anthems such as "Hit Again" and "On A Bike". The trio does not hesitate to take risks either, especially on "Santa Olala" where they put themselves in the language of Molière before starting again with "Stick To The Bone" and "Love Factory". After an intimate and acoustic "Today", Beach Bugs passes the test of the first album with a show of hands with its influences perfectly distilled as it should be.
