The Weavers - The Weavers Classics (1987)

This compilation album culls 12 of the 17 songs from the Weavers' 1958 album, The Weavers at Home, plus four of the five songs from its follow-up, Travelling on with the Weavers (1959) that featured departing tenor Pete Seeger. It gets docked half a diamond for its misleading title, which could cause a customer to confuse it with a hits or best-of collection. But with songs like "This Land Is Your Land," "Erie Canal," "Gotta Travel On" and "Greenland Whale Fisheries," it is a typically varied and well-performed Weavers disc.
