As the grandson of Conjunto legend and pioneer Ismael Gonzalez, Dan Gonzalez has his roots deep in the Lone Star State’s fertile musical ground. Drawn to Texas singer-songwriters, such as Lyle Lovett and Robert Earl Keen, and classic rockers like Tom Petty and the Eagles, Gonzalez’s songs have an Americana feel with the blues and rock electricity to get the dance floor jumping and the crowd rocking.

He began performing in San Antonio in the early 2000's with cover band Prime Suspects. In 2010 he assembled some of the top sidemen from the San Antonio area to perform his original material. Since then, the Dan Gonzalez Band has performed with a number of national acts, including Matt King, Uncle Lucius, and Emory Quinn. The group brings an undeniable passion for music along with decades of performing experience to their high-energy live shows. The group's current lineup includes Mike McLean (Bass), Matt Alpert (Lead Guitar), Al Hockley (Keys), and Brent Martin (Drums.)

The group's debut album, Long Way Down, showcases Gonzalez's keen songwriting abilities, and versatility in Americana styles including, country rock, Grateful Loving Man; blues, If the Time Was Right; and singer-songwriter folk, The Games We Play.
