Flatland - Origin Of Species (1999)

Flatland combines, on their second Origin release, 11 originals and compositions by Charlie Haden & Joe Zawinul including a haunting rendition of "In A Silent Way." The trio of drummer Todd Bishop, bassist Don Corey and guitarist Matt Wayne are joined by saxophonist Saul Kline who together, create a free-jazz movie soundtrack reminiscent of the mid-70's groups of Keith Jarrett and the Redman/Cherry/Haden/Blackwell collective Old and New Dreams Quartet.
