Slow Knights - Living in a Dark World (2015)

Slow Knights – the group created by Del Marquis of Scissor Sisters – was born out of a love of Freestyle, Outer Space funk and baby making jams.

'Cosmos,' the bands first album, started off as demos with Marquis on vocals, however the other members soon blew the lid off the songs, breathing new life into the lyrics. The record was finished off with live tracking by former members of the New Power Generation.

For the next record, 'Living in a Dark World,' the other members of Slow Knights (Xavier Smith, Bridget Barkan, Mykal Kilgore & Rod Thomas) co-wrote the songs with Marquis.

Says Marquis, “For this record I wanted to focus on production while letting the singers dictate the lyrical direction. It’s a very Fleetwood Mac approach, democratically mining so many band members for drama. I love that the record goes off in so many directions of narrative.

With songs like “Astral Bodies” and “Into the Void” even the more quintessential pop-funk of the band is showing signs of veering into new territory.
