"Concerto for 2 Violins" includes 2 new and old songs! Excellent recording.
Newly reprinted from the original analog master tape in the home country! PHILIPS master
Bach: Violin Concertos (9500 614), released by Phillips in 1980, and Bach's 2 pieces from "J.S. Bach & Vivaldi: Violin Concertos" (6500, 119) released in 1971. Combining songs, it is the world's first SA-CD (the latter Vivaldi is released at the same time as PROC-2329).
The Belgian master Arthur Grumiaux (1921-1986), who celebrated his 100th birthday this year (2021), was strongly aware throughout his life that he was born on March 21, the same day as Bach. Rather than going back to Bach based on his historical research, he has consistently maintained the attitude of making Bach's scores as beautiful, rich, and beautiful as possible, using modern performance techniques that are the result of his performance history. The best example is stamped on this SA-CD. His dignified appearance and subdued tones in his playing testify to his solid view of Bach and his high taste in music. Co-stars in the three double concertos are Clevers (1923-2018), who is a similar age to him, Koji Toyoda (1933-), who is a disciple but has a different cultural background, and Holliger (1939-), who has a different instrument, country, and generation. It is also interesting to hear the co-starring content with different tastes.
