“For he has commanded his angels to protect you”: Whether psalm words like this or other words of poetry and prayer: promises of heavenly guidance have always been set to music for singing together. Meinrad Walter presents seven choral pieces: from J. S. Bach and the Baroque period (Schütz, Handel) through the classics of Mozart to the Romantic period (Schubert, Mendelssohn, Bruckner). It gives an exciting insight into the origin and meaning of the texts and compositions.
