A typical Van McCoy album, but this one comes with a concept. Rhythms of the World is filled to the rim with the usual 'orchestral disco', unsurprising yet fun. The album has zero pretention as it is designed to just be enjoyed. Featuring a percussionist named 'Crusher' Bennett and a horn player called Urban Green means this isn't gonna suck, and it doesn't. It's not deep or has anything to say but that's its strength, Rhythms of the World is a smooth lubricant facilitating disco pleasure, designed to work on dancefloors through the world.
