The music is inspired by the European jazz scene, and is a meeting between strong melodies and creative form structures. The compositions are created based on the idea of giving the participating musicians a high degree of creative freedom, so that there is room for each musician to develop individually, while the music moves in a clear direction.
Jesper Lørup (b. 1995) is a young drummer and composer who is educated and Denmark and the Netherlands. His playing contains a high level of sensitivity and responsiveness, which means that he is involved in several international projects, with tours in e.g. The Netherlands, Estonia, Lithuania and Poland.
On the forthcoming debut album, Sketches From The Black Box, the listener is invited into a creative and deeply personal universe, where the music is created in the meeting between strong themes and collective improvisations, with room for both sensitive tracks and unique interplay with high intensity.
